We Need To Refresh
It’s a new year and so many of us are making resolutions and thinking of ways to “better” ourselves. How are you going to lose weight? Become healthy? Start a new habit to make your life easier? One thing that should be on our minds is how are we going to refresh ourselves?
I know. I know. You’re thinking that sounds so selfish. But what if it’s not? We know that beginning our day digging into God’s Word helps us start our day focused on Him (which is where our focus should be). We know worshiping Him through out the day helps us feel closer to Him, like He’s standing right beside us. So why wouldn’t getting away and truly focusing on Him (no distractions) not help us even more?
Take a little time to get away from rounding up the kiddos, cooking dinner, cleaning the house, chauffeuring everyone around, grocery shopping, and the list goes on and on. As moms we are always on the go and trying to meet the needs of our family and that’s a good thing. It’s a great thing. It’s a privilege! But I can tell you I definitely forget to breathe at times. We forget to allow ourselves to relax and we rarely allow ourselves to take that break and refresh. But we need it don’t we?
Over the next few weeks I’d like to take some time to encourage you to take the time away and allow yourself to be refreshed and poured into. Allow someone else to do all of the planning and teaching. Know that you are worthy of taking the time for you. Know that taking by that time for you, you are actually giving that refreshment to your family too.
